Denim

Sorry for not adding any news in a few weeks. Just started training which takes a lot of time and I've also got loads of work. Anyway, Spring is approaching and the stores show more and more colourful clothes in thinner fabric and flower prints that gives me a great feeling that we´re heading for Spring. Last week I bought a new pair of shoes that I´ve already worn at work as I think they are so nice:-) Goes perfectly to black leggings or stocks and the compliments have been many, not that common to wear shoes in another colour than Black.

Regarding trends for this Spring I believe denim will be one of the most popular trends. Yes I know that denim is always trendy but if you compare with last year leggings were a big trend and many denim brands had a tough year and lost sales due to these new type of trousers that many women bought instead of jeans. I think it will turn to that more and more will go for jeans this year and you can see denim in all kind of garments in almost every collection for this Spring; shirts, shorts, skirts, dresses... Famous brands like Chloé, Balenciaga, D&G, Louis Vuitton and Stella McCartney have several items in their collection. The garments are washed out to get the special worn out feeling and many brands mix them with leather and fringes to get the cowboy look or patches in different fabrics or another shade than shell fabric. I´m sure that I will buy many new denim items this Spring and the best thing is that you can mix them with everything that you have in your closet.

The Garden collection by H&M

I´m already tired of the sale right now and it will surely increase and then you buy something that you never wear anyway. I´ve learned by my mistakes and now I´m just interesting of new and fresh Spring items. Have you heard about H&M´s new collection "The Garden collection"? The items are made of Ecological Cotton, Ecological Linen and recycled fabrics like Polyester and Tencel. The best part is that the items are not solid tees in white or black or some other "boring" style just because it is made in ecological fabric. I think this will be a really big success and I hope that more brands will do the same for coming collections. Just look at pictures below and forget about the cold outside and dream away to Spring and Summer...

Outfits for New Year´s Eve

Have you decided yet what to wear on New Year´s Eve? I´m choosing between two dresses, one navy long dress or a black short dress... I think it will end that I choose the black dress as I feel more comfortable in that one. To make it more special I´ll add some details like a belt and some bracelets. I found some really nice dresses from ACNE and Whyred that I would love to have but I think they are too expensive. Too bad that they are not on sale...

Byredo´s fragrance Blanche is pure and simple with white rose, pink pepper and Aldehyde. The heart consists of violet, neroli, peony and reveals a base of blonde woods, sandalwood and musk.

A super-smoothing hand Cream from L'Occitane that consist of 20% Shea Butter, honey and sweet almond extract and smells like jasmine.

Sonia Rykiel Pour H&M

I guess that you haven´t missed that Sonia Rykiel has designed a lingerie line for H&M. I bought some of these items last Saturday and I really like the classic Sonia Rykiel stripe and also the lace. The quality seems to be really good as well. Sonia will also make a collection that will be launched in February next year and recently the first pictures were posted on the net. Sonia is also called "The queen of knits" and and the coming collection includes mostly striped knitted sweaters, dresses, basques and leggings. Looking forward to see this collection in stores.

The fashion show for these two collections was located at Le Grand Palais in Paris (same place that Chanel usually have fashion shows). The environment was like a mini Paris with amusment parks. Here are some pictures from the fabolous show.

William Rast

Just found some really nice items for both her and him from William Rast. This brand was founded by Justin Timberlake and his friend since childhood Trace Ayala. Their first line launched 2006 and the brand is mostly known for their premium jeans. The name "William Rast" is a combination of Ayala´s grandfather´s last name and Justin Timberlake´s grandfather´s first name. Last Autumn Johan Lindeberg and his wife Marcella began to work with the brand as Creative Directors and it has grown a lot since then. The AW 09 collection contains of course jeans, leather jackets, rivets and the key items are jeans with patches and the biker jacket. I really like that style. Too bad that you can´t buy these clothes in Sweden..

The collection for SS 10 is more "soft" and more colourful than the AW collection. There are some items in this collection that I like very much like the denim shirt and the black outfit that you can see on pictures below. I think this collection is little bit too main stream and the previous one was much better. Just love the t-shirt that they also have for this season. The leather jacket isn´t that bad either...

My wardrobe news....

My interest and passion in life is clothes and shopping. I´m so lucky that I also have the oppotunity to work with fashion. Almost every day I visit the stores to keep up with news. I think it´s fun and it gives me pleasure to be among the first ones to wear the garment or accessorie. When "the mass" is buying the same items I rather don´t use it anymore and you can always sell it on Tradera. Of course I fall for some of the trends each season, but I think it´s important to not copy and to spice up your outfit with your own touch to make it more personal. Recently the brand Hope released a new collection in Wax that is called Hope Wax Wear. It includes outerwear and accessories in waxed cotton and you will find both new styles and also old favourites like the bag on above picture. I really like the jacket in Navy that is great for Spring and will also be modern for next Autumn so it´s a good investment.
